Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food neatly, accurately and in a timely way.
  • Demostrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains it to guests accurately. Exibit a sheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests.
  • Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitization standards while preparing food, serving food, and clean up.
  • Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Operation Manual.
Requirements:
  • Applicants must be willing to work in shift at Sungai Dua (near USM). Morning/opening shift starts as early as 6-7am and night/closing shift finishes as late as 1-2am
  • Fresh graduates/Entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Full-Time, Part-Time, Contract and Temporary position available.

·         5 QUESTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEWER TO ASK THE INTERVIEWEE

Q1 : Do you have any experience working as a sandwich preparer?
A1 : No. I have never work as a sandwich prepare but I want to try. I consider myself energetic and willing to learn. I am willing to learn new things. I already searched this job description. I know how to treat thecustomers, take the orders, and watch to see if the customers need anything. I know the basic for this kind of job.
A2 : Yes, I have working experience as a sandwich preparer one month ago. I also have the skills necessary in this position. Previous employers will attest to the fact that I am a hard worker. I can work under pressure and I actually work better under pressure and I've found that I enjoy working in a challenging environment.

Q2 : If the customers irritate you by using foul language and raising their voice to you, how would you react?
A1 : I have to remember that the customer is always right. My aim should always be customer satisfaction, whatever the situation. I also have to use my ears more than my mouth. By listening carefully, I will be able to understand why the customer is complaining, so that satisfactory steps can be taken.
A2 :  I have to ask for apologize for what has happened even if it is not my fault. It's important that I accept full responsibility for the situation. I also will thank the customer for bringing the matter to your attention. I will tell them it will be discussed with the manager.

Q3 : If your manager scold you infront of the customers, would you accept it?
A1 : Yes I will listen to what he has to say. Active listening is necessary for me to understand what got him worked up in the first place. No matter how sharp the urge is, I won’t interrupt when he’s speaking. I Speak in a calm clear voice,  if the fault lies with me,I will  immediately apologize and promise to get things back in control.
A2 : Yes. I will say sorry because it is a simple word. But saying it at the right time makes all the difference in the world. If I’ve been held responsible for something that has nothing to do with me, I will state your case calmly and firmly. Being overly humble only indicates fear and a manipulative boss can use that knowledge to put me down on another occasion. It’s not necessary to agree with everything a boss says when angry. If I do that I will lose his respect. Instead, concentrate on finding a resolution for the cause of his anger.

Q4 : If you are asked to work overtime, are you willing to do it?
A1 : I do understand that it will occasionally be necessary to work overtime. Generally I feel that the work can be completed on time if we work sincerely and utilize the work hours. However I have no problem in working overtime if the work are very tight and requires me to work hard.
A2 : I am very responsible person ,and I have definite plan and I go according to that in a systematic way, so in case I am behind schedule I will surely work overnight and make sure i complete it in time.

Q5 : Have you learned about the skills in preparing a sandwich?
A1 : No, I don’t know how to prepare a sandwich. But I’m a fast learner. I can learn things in a few days that often take other people several months. As evidence, before this my mum taught me how to make lasagna. She only taught me once. I’ve never made lasagna before. But then, it surprised me that I was able to do it on my first try. I’m so glad and very happy.
A2 : I had join the class to sandwich preparing. The preparation of sandwiches requires a great deal of handwork. Many individual motions may be required especially if the sandwiches are multi-decker or have several ingredients. Whether I am making sandwiches in quantity or to order, my goals must be to reduce my motions to make the production as efficient and quick as possible.

·         3 QUESTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEWEE TO ASK INTERVIEWER

Q1 : What are the day-to-day responsibilities of this job?
ANSWER : The day-to-day responsibilities of this job are you have to prepare food neatly, accurately, and in a timely way, you also has to demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items. Besides that, you have to understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitization standards while preparing food, serving food and clean up. 

Q2 : Do you have any reservation in hiring me?
ANSWER : Of course. You have to fulfill all the criteria stated on the advertisement and you have to works independently, has good accuracy with your work, follows directions, gets along with Co-Workers and customers, has good attendance, cooperative and has a positive attitude.

Q3 : How would you describe your management style and interaction with your staff?
ANSWER : Seriously I’m very strict to my worker. But I’ll do my job professionally. If you cause any problem, I will not hesitate to admonish you.  I believe in treating people like professionals. From the start I believe in giving and expecting trust. You don’t have to earn trust when you join the team. You receive it automatically and keep it unless you do something to lose it.
